It may be tempting to believe that the name Tuesday has something to do with the fact that it is the 2nd day of the week: Two... Tuesday.
Truth is however, the name Tuesday originally has nothing to do with the number 2, neither the fact that it is the 2nd day of the week.
The name Tuesday originates from the oldest version of English from the middle ages, where week days were named after the gods at that time, and the day was called Tiwesdag. During later times where Middle English was spoken up to around 1500, it's name was Tewesday, or the day of Tiw. Tiw was the god for law and justice. (Source: Wikipedia)
A famous variant of Tuesday is the Twosday - read more about Twosday here.
